Art communicates by initiating, combining and renewing to express life, translating thought and experience into sensory form, exploring theories of visual space, color and character of line. Art enables perception and awareness through the organization of expressive content and is always experimental. Download bio.
The drawings and paintings on this site represent explorations of various media and subjects; they are renderings of images to which I have developed an appreciation and affinity in terms of form and meaning, subjects that are the result of meditation in which I see an appealing truth of experience and strong communication with the past. These works represent my desire to enter into the beauty of the structures I see, which can be anything from natural forms or simple handmade objects to sacred syllables from ancient texts.

Making marks in the act of handlettering provides challenge, satisfaction, and an opportunity to project thought and feeling. Art embodies the hope to create change through one’s own rhythm and movement. I work with all aspects of art and design from creating business and personal identity to expressing my views through calligraphy, illustration, and fine art drawing and painting. Environmentally sound practices are a habit of mind passed down by my father.
